Rinpoche Visit

A few days prior to the inauguration of the Museum of Heritage at the Lepcha Gumba, another big event took place on the 16 May on the day of Buddha Purnima– the sanctification ceremony of the 8 feet Buddha statue installed by one of the well wishers of the Gumba -Ms Inkit Ruthnaswamy (nee Lepcha), The day long ceremony was held by Rinpoche Chokhor, Abbot, Tharpa Choling Monastery, Kalimpong. Devotees numbering more than 500 from far and near gathered for the ceremony and to welcome Rinpoche Chokhor. Lunch also funded by Ms Inkit was served to the attendees. The inauguration was covered by the local Kalimpong TV
